Lewisville Countertops: Countertops in Lewisville, TX
Lewisville Countertops fits new countertops in kitchens, bathrooms and outdoor kitchens across Lewisville, Texas.
Countertops for Lewisville homes
Lewisville Countertops fits stone, engineered and wood countertops in Lewisville houses. Maybe there's a burn mark by the stove, a cracked corner by the dishwasher, or a color you stopped liking years ago. Tell us what bugs you about the counters you have, and we'll help you work out what goes in their place.
We also work in nearby towns, including The Colony, Highland Village, Flower Mound and Coppell.
Start with the room
Kitchen countertops
We fit kitchen countertops around the sink, the cooktop (the burners set into the counter) and any island. Before we quote, we measure the cabinets and note every appliance the counter has to fit around.
Bathroom vanity tops
A bathroom vanity top is a smaller job. It's a good place to try a stone you're not sure about using in the kitchen.
Outdoor kitchen countertops
We fit outdoor kitchen countertops for grills and patio bars. Tell us how much sun the spot gets, and we'll talk you through which materials we'd use there.
Then pick the material
Granite countertops
We fit granite countertops cut from full slabs. Pick your slab in person, since a photo won't show you the whole pattern.
Quartz countertops
NIOSH, part of the CDC, lists quartz as another name for engineered stone, and OSHA describes engineered stone as man-made. We fit quartz countertops for owners who want a steady, even pattern.
Quartzite countertops
Don't mix it up with quartz: the U.S. Geological Survey defines quartzite as a rock formed from sandstone. We fit quartzite countertops in kitchens and on islands.
Marble countertops
We fit marble countertops in kitchens and baths. If you cook a lot, ask us how marble will age in your kitchen.
Soapstone countertops
Soapstone is a rock that contains talc, which the U.S. Geological Survey calls the softest mineral. We fit soapstone countertops in kitchens and on islands.
Solid surface countertops
We fit solid surface countertops, a man-made sheet material, in baths and kitchens where you want a plain, simple look.
Porcelain and concrete countertops
We fit porcelain countertops when you want a thin, light slab, and concrete countertops when you want something poured to your own shape.
Butcher block countertops
We fit butcher block countertops on islands and baking stations. Ask us what care the wood will need before you decide.
Granite, radon and radiation
The EPA says granite, like any stone, may contain natural radioactive elements such as uranium and thorium. These can break down into radon, a radioactive gas with no color or smell. Even so, the EPA says it is extremely unlikely that radiation from granite countertops would raise your yearly dose above normal background levels.
The bigger worry, according to the EPA, is radon coming up from the soil under a house. It recommends testing every home for radon, with or without granite countertops. If a test finds high levels, the EPA says a system that removes radon from the air may work better than taking out the granite.
If your job needs a permit
Some jobs, like moving a sink, go beyond a straight swap. When a job does need a permit, the City of Lewisville says you should never apply for it on behalf of your contractor. Lewisville requires contractors to register with the city before they can pull a permit. The city also warns that if you take out the permit yourself, you may be held liable for fixing work that fails code.
Before you sign a quote
Get these in writing:
- A drawing of the layout, with every seam and cutout marked.
- The name, color and thickness of the material.
- Which edge you are getting.
- Whether taking out and hauling away the old countertops is in the price.
- Who disconnects and reconnects the sink, faucet and cooktop.
- If the job needs a permit, that the contractor will pull it.
Countertop questions
Do I need a permit to replace countertops in Lewisville?
The city lists cosmetic projects, such as replacing cabinets or installing carpet, as not needing a building permit. For anything beyond that, it suggests calling its Building Services staff to confirm. If your job goes past a straight swap, we'll make that call with you.
Can you replace just one piece of countertop?
Sometimes. We'll look at the old stone and tell you honestly whether a new piece will blend in or the whole run should go.
Should I choose the countertop or the cabinets first?
If you're replacing both, we'd pick the countertop material early. A slab you love narrows down the cabinet colors that work with it. Going the other way, you end up hunting for a stone to match cabinets that are already in.
Do you take the old countertops away?
Yes. We take out the old tops as part of a countertop replacement job. Check that hauling them away is written into your quote.
What if my countertop is just chipped?
Then a countertop repair may be enough. We'll look at the chip and tell you whether a fix will hold.
Do you install backsplashes?
Yes. Once the countertop is set, we do backsplash installation, facing the strip of wall just above the counter with tile or stone.
Which areas do you cover?
